Disciplining and socialization of the dog.
-Dog discipline and socialization-
In Europe, such as Germany, you can take your dog on the train and even in a restaurant. I can't take it anywhere, but it seems that society accepts dogs more widely than in Japan. Britain and Germany are very animal-friendly countries. But there must be people who don't like dogs. I think it is accepted by society because dogs and their owners behave so that people who dislike dogs do not complain. So why can a dog stay in a public place without doing anything wrong?

It is because they are well trained and accustomed to the social environment.

Dogs are alert animals. Although there are individual differences in personality, it responds sensitively to changes in the environment that occur around it. Even if you are sleeping at home, it is a good example that when a visitor comes, you will notice it first and get up or bark. On the other hand, he is very curious, has a strong interest in various things and creatures, and even approaches and smells. I like it if I show my curiosity and find it safe and fun. If you feel scared there, you will never get closer. It is the same for human beings to learn in this way.

In public places, cars come and go, sudden loud noises, strangers and dogs approach. For dogs unfamiliar with society, there is no such a hectic unknown world. It's natural to feel upset and anxious. If a stranger approaches or touches an unfamiliar dog in the wrong way, the dog can be frightened and bite. Dogs that have never interacted with other dogs do not know how to interact with them. If you can't communicate well, it's quite possible that you'll develop into a fight. This is not a bad thing for the dog, but an innately natural behavior.

As mentioned earlier, if the dog recognizes that "this is not the object of fear", it is safe to pass by whether the car passes by or is touched by a person. It can be said from this that when a puppy makes his debut on a walk, he dislikes the sound of cars and motorcycles and often avoids the object. However, by repeating the walk, I understood, "Why, cars and motorcycles are noisy and move fast, but I am surprised, but they do not attack," and gradually get used to it, and eventually it disappears from my eyes. By gaining experience in this way, you can get used to it.

Dogs can only learn by hands-on experience.
By getting used to people and dogs and getting used to the social environment, anxiety disappears and you can stay as calm as when you are at home. If the dog is always calm, we, who are accompanied by it, can enjoy walking, shopping and eating calmly without worrying about it. Dogs are safe and owners are safe. We can be happy with each other. This learning act of "getting used to" is called socialization. In order to get used to various things so that the dog is not afraid, it is necessary to have a lot of experience and overcome it. For that purpose, it is necessary to meet many people and dogs from a young age and take them out as much as possible so that the owner can overcome the trials. Overcoming many challenges with the owner will strengthen mutual trust and give the dog confidence.

This is dog socialization training.

The existence of an owner is an important key to the socialization of dogs. Dogs are not good at overcoming fear by themselves. This is because many animals, not just dogs, have the instinct to escape from fear. If we encounter a bee or a snake, we will run away first. However, for example, if someone learns how to deal with it, "It's okay if you don't run away, I'll teach you how to do it." The same is true for dogs, and most fears can be overcome by the owner teaching his dog how to do it. It is effective for the owner, who is most trusted by his dog, to teach it. However, teaching dogs something requires the owner to have certain skills. Because dogs don't understand all human languages, they need to be taught in a way that is easy for them to understand.
When the owner learns and practices the method, he / she can finally communicate deeply with the dog. If you can communicate, you will be able to convey your intentions, and socialization training will proceed smoothly.

I think that measuring this communication is the basis of "dog discipline".

You don't have to be able to do interesting tricks. (I like it cutely)
Even if the dog suddenly gets excited, it shouldn't be a problem if he can calm down immediately and be obedient.

In order for people to communicate with each other, there are certain rules for each other. For example, language (use English if the other person is an English-speaking person), common sense ideas, etc.

Since dogs are not humans, human language and common ideas do not work. If you want your dog to understand, the first thing we do is to understand the dog's habits. Forcing a dog to do something that it cannot understand innately is not "discipline" but abuse. If treated in the right way, the dog can understand the owner's intentions and live happily with the owner without fear.

Trusting and understanding dogs, getting dogs to trust and understand us.
"Discipline" is the act of understanding each other, communicating with each other, and deepening ties.

If you have a dog, you can't get along with your dog unless you "discipline" it.
Let's do "discipline" so that your dog can live with peace of mind.
We hope that the correct "discipline" will be of widespread interest.
